It seems that a lot people are confused on just what blog plug ins are and how to install them properly.
What are blog plugins and why do I need one?
A plug in, is a download you can get for free at many different places on the Internet. Depending on what you are trying to do will depend on what blog plug in you get. There are many different ones for different functions, and most bloggers will tell you what they use but that doesn’t necessarily mean you have to have it.
There are a few plug ins that are a MUST to have if you want your blog to function correctly and get recognized by the search engines with each post.
Here are just a few that I hear over and over again that are a Must to have:
All-In-One-SEO – this allows you to set the title of your post for search engines, assign a brief description of your post, and add your own keywords, these can be different from your original post so your title and description are search engine friendly.
Google XML Sitemap – this one will create a special sitemap for Google, it does not show up on your blog, it is a behind the scene plug in.
MaxBlogPress Ping Optimizer – with this plug in you don’t have to worry about notifying other places when you make a post. It will also allow you to make changes to a post without notifying other places that all you did was an update. If your posts get pinged too often it can be considered spam
WordPress Database Backup – this is a Must Have plugin it will backup your complete blog and you can either have it saved to your computer and/or sent to your email address. You can set a schedule to have your blog backed up one a daily, weekly, or monthly schedule.
Subscribe Me – this plugin will put a bookmark button at the end of your posts to make it easier for your visitors to bookmark your blog
Now like I mentioned, every blogger will tell you the plugins they use, getting and using plugins will depend greatly on the purpose of your blog and what your market will like. Do not put things on your blog that YOU like, always, always, keep your visitors/customers first in mind when you are planning your blog and content.
Now let’s discuss installing your plugin.
Once you download your plugin, it will usually come in .zip format. There are different ways to install your plugin. The easiest fastest way to do this, is to log into your admin area of your blog, click on plugin and choose Add New. You will see where it says Install a plugin in .zip format. Next to this box, click the browse button to find where on your computer the plugin is saved. Click upload.
On the next page you will be able to see the status of the upload, when it is finished you will be given the links to activate your plugin click this to activate it.
Now remember, some plugins require additional set up so be sure that you read all the information that comes with the plugin or on the website where you downloaded it.
That is really all there is to installing your plugins and activating.
If you don’t see this option to upload your plugin then you will have to ftp your plugin to your blog using an ftp program such as Filezilla. You will need to unzip the plugin before you upload it.
After you upload it, you will have to log into admin area of your blog and go to installed plugins and manually activate it. Again, make sure there is no setup to do to finalize the installation.
I hope this article will answer your questions when it comes to setting up and installing your blog plugings.

Do you know how to make money online? No, we’re not referring to a specific strategy or technique that guarantees quick profits. We’re not talking about a magic trick that will vault you straight to the top of the Internet marketing heap. We’re referring what it really takes to have a profitable online business.
The path to making a real online income is three-fold. Those who follow it will generally experience success no matter which specific methodologies they embrace.
First, if you want to earn a serious online income you need to commit yourself to taking action. The number one reason why some people fail when trying to crack into the Internet marketing world is their reluctance to take serious action. They spend plenty of time researching and experimenting, but they just can’t seem to do something from beginning to end. That dedication to action is the first ingredient to success.
Second, those who make money online understand the inevitability of small failures. They know that not everything they try will work. They understand that they’ll make mistakes as they learn the ropes. They aren’t worried about those inevitable setbacks. They keep their minds focused on the fact that persevering them will lead to a profitable business.
Third, those who make money online are smart enough to get information from others instead of trying to reinvent the wheel. The best marketers are those who learn from others and who’d prefer to shorten the learning curve instead of fighting their way through the school of hard knocks. They develop relationships, ask questions and consult proven plans.
That three-pronged approach is the real way to make money online. If you are committed to action, willing to accept the fact that you’ll occasionally have issues and are ready to use the knowledge and experience of others to grow your business, you can succeed in Internet marketing.
Learning how to make money online is not rocket science when you get your advice from the best in the business.
Making money online seems to be everyone’s’ dreams today. They are tired of the old 9 to 5 jobs, the commuting back and forth, and never getting ahead financially or emotionally.
When it comes to making money online there are a few things you must consider.
1. Is it something you can do
2. What type of business do you want to start
3. Have you done your research for your market place
4. Do you have the skills needed
5. Will you have to pay a lot of money to get help
One thing to remember as you venture out online, is time is money, and money is time. You have to be willing to give up one or the other and sometimes both. Don’t just decide this is what I want to do and not have a laid out plan of attack.
The first and most important place for you to start is with training. Find yourself a good mentor, someone you can follow and relate to.
There are certain steps all online businesses take, and the first step is to build a good responsive list of clientele. You can do this without a product or service set up. Setup a simple squeeze page to bring in visitors to sign up to your list by offering them something of value for free.
Build trust with this list as time goes by, by providing good quality information and products that will help them solve a problem they are having. This will build your relationship with them and they will begin to look at you as an expert within your market.
Starting out it is strongly recommended that you use affiliate products, this is simply selling other people’s products for a cut of the cost, known as a commission. This can get you up and earning an income right a way, without the hassle of having your own products or website yet.
By starting out with affiliate products/programs you will get a feel of how the system works without having to spend tons of cash up front and the headaches that go along with it.
Education is the key to a successful marketer. Learn all you can learn as you go along, but do not get overwhelmed with all this information. Make a list of what you know how to do, build a website, find affiliate products, and writing copy that sells.
If you have issues with any of these, consider finding people who have these skills and either stick up a deal with them or pay them to do it for you.
Making money online isn’t as hard as most people think it is, but it does take time and a learning curve.
It can change everything. If you’re looking for more insight and exploration of [http://askdrsmiley.com/]Making Money Online, I strongly recommend this website: http://askdrsmiley.com

Before you jump right into the world of Internet marketing, you need to be sure you are ready to make money online. There are a few preparations you should have in place before you start taking action on your business. Let’s look at a few of those prerequisites for success.
The first factor is related to psychological concerns. No, you don’t need to make sure you’re not crazy! You do, however, need to prepare yourself mentally for a few things. You need to calibrate your expectations correctly. That means realizing that you will have struggles and that things may not always work out on the first try. Too many people give up on IM because they have unreal expectations about how things will unfold. Those who are ready to roll with the punches, on the other hand, tend to succeed.
The second factor is related to the actual operation of your Internet business. You need to have a good plan. When you’re first starting out, that usually involves embracing a relatively conservative but proven system of generating online earnings. If you follow a proven technique carefully, you can all but guarantee some level of success. This is a great way to get started because it will result in a completed moneymaking project upon which you can build and expand as your knowledge, experiences and resources grow.
The third aspect of preparing to make money online involves making a commitment to learning. In order to reach your potential in Internet marketing, you’ll have to develop multiple skills. The IM landscape also tends to change quickly, making it important to stay on top of new developments. If you’re not interested in staying aware of the industry and its changes, you’ll have a much more difficult time making money.
Are you ready to make money online? Do you see yourself in all three of those considerations? If you do, full speed ahead. If you still have some work to do, take care of it now so you can start building your business as quickly as possible.
These days, almost anyone can build a website quickly and easily. It doesn’t require a great deal of expertise or years of training. The fact that web designing is easy for everyone does not mean that everyone can do it effectively, though. It might be a breeze to toss up a site, but creating a good site still requires some knowledge.
A great deal goes into effective web designing and its obviously well beyond the scope of any single article to cover every detail. There are three points that do stand out as real keys to effective design.
First, navigational clarity. You want people to be able to get around your site without becoming lost, confused or annoyed. That makes obvious navigational aids a must. Whether you do it with a sidebar or as a series of tabs or links across the top of every page, it’s essential to have a good navigational system.
Second, readability. That doesn’t refer to the Flesh-Kincaid score for your content. It refers to creating a site that meets basic usability requirements. We’re talking about adequately-sized text presentation, use of white space to increase clarity and avoidance of overcrowding a page and making it too “noisy” to easily interpret.
Third, quality coding. You want your site to render correctly on browsers. You want search engines to be able to find and read it. You want it to load quickly for visitors. That means you need to make sure that its underlying code is written optimally. We can argue over the necessity of complete compliance with validation standards, but there’s no way to dispute the fact solid coding is a necessity.
If you create a well-coded site that’s easy to navigate and that adheres to basic usability standards, you’re in good shape. These are three core principles that lead to effective web designing.

More and more people are developing online presences every single day. Some of them start with a solid knowledge base and a strong set of skills. Others try to make their mark with nothing more than the idea that they want to be online. While the process of web designing is easy for some, it’s a massive struggle for others.
How can inexperienced folks get online without all of the headaches? Here are a few pointers that might come in handy. If you keep these three recommendations in mind, you don’t need to struggle to create a fully functional website, even if you don’t know the difference between HTML and URLs.
First, start simple. The nice thing about a website is that you can always rearrange it, repair it and expand upon it. Nothing is carved in stone. So it makes sense to start your web designing with a simple structure. There’s no need to worry about all of the bells and whistles right off the bat.
Second, use good tools. If there’s one thing that makes creating a website easier today than it ever has been before it’s the presence of great tools, many of which are free. These can make building and managing a website incredibly simple. The difficulties that used to plague novices are now avoidable thanks to these resources.
Third, ask questions. One of the best things about the Internet is the fact that there are so many helpful people out there who are willing to lend a hand and to supply good advice. Anyone who feels stuck while putting a site together can go to any one of many sites and forums to look for support and good recommendations.
Simplicity, tools and asking questions. Those three steps are all it really takes to make web designing easy for almost everyone.

Generating traffic that is the question today.
I personally don’t care for the term ‘generate traffic’, why?
Because it sounds like you are trying to ‘drive traffic’ like a car on a highway. What you are really working at doing is bring new clients and customers to your website/blog. Not traffic
So just what are the ways to bring in those new clients/customers to your website/blog?
I know you’ve heard most of the steps, article marketing, posting to blogs and forums with a link in your signature line, getting out there on the social media like Twitter, Facebook, Myspace and so forth. This is all good, but does it really work?
I see lots of people writing articles and posting them everywhere, why, because it works! The thing that most beginners miss, is doing the research with keywords, this is a MUST do. Target your audience with what they want/need. Don’t just write for writing purposes, keyword target your articles and your posts.
There are places all over the net that will let you do this absolutely free!
Wordtracker
Adwords Google
SEO Books
and the list of course goes on and on, but these are the ones I stick with to get started.
Now when it comes to posting in forums and on blogs, again, do your research, only post on quality forums and blogs within your niche/market, don’t just post anywhere. Use your keywords and find those targeted forums and blogs. You do this by going to http:google.com and type in the search box forum+keyword and you will come up with lots of forums targeting your keyword, do this also for your blog, type in the search box blogs+keyword to find the blogs that are targeted to your audience.
Today it is very popular to be on one of the social medias out there. Twitter so far has been the tops for when it comes to making and building relationships online. Don’t get overwhelmed with all the information out there today on Twitter, just get started. Head over to http://www.twitter.com and sign up, it’s free! Use your real name if possible and a real picture of yourself, no cartoon or avatar stuff, people want to interact with real people.
Once you are signed up, go to http://tweetdeck.com and download this software and use it! It’s FREE and will make tweeting much easier for you. You can do searches of with your keywords and see who else is tweeting about it and follow them, you might be surprised just how many will follow you back! In just a few days I got over 100 followers by using this method so I know it works!
If you want to learn more about Twitter and get answers to your questions I highly recommend Mike Wesely over at http://twittalk.tv, he holds regular talks and WILL answer all your questions!
When it comes to using Facebook and Myspace again it is similar to the above with Twitter, take the time to learn the few steps it takes to get things right the first time. 1) Use your Real Name 2) do not use avatars for your picture use a good professional picture 3) Find others within your market/niche to communicate with and build relationships with. Following these easy steps can and will definitely get you out there.
One more thing about bringing customers/clients to your website/blog, do not expect miracles over night to happen. All things good come to those that wait and are patient! Remember, McDonalds wasn’t built in a day, so how do you expect to build your business in a day? Take the time to do some research, build your foundation up, and pick ONE or TWO steps above to get started letting your customers/clients know where you are and how you can help them.
Only pick those generating you customers and clients, if you aren’t seeing the results you want or need, before giving up, find an expert or someone else to look at what you are doing before you give up. You just might not have it set up properly, and one little change can make all the difference in the world.
When it comes to the end of the day, the one thing that makes all the difference no matter what you are doing is taking action and actually doing something! So Take Action Today!!
Get the tools recommended above and start getting those new clients/customers to your website/blog. If you ever need any type of help or have a question please use the form on the right hand side to ask away, the doctor is always in and ready to answer your questions.
TAKE ACTION TODAY!

An auto responder is a piece of software that will deliver messages to people that request it from your website, the messages are ones that you provide. The auto responder also will hold the people’s information inside for you like a database or list of customers.
You don’t install this software, it is best to use a 3rd party auto responder, such as Aweber they are one of the best online today.
The best way to learn more you can read my post on What Are AutoResponders and if you want to learn more about to use them check this post out How to Use Auto Responders

This is a common thought today, products being too expensive for the little guys to get a hold of. Remember, it isn’t about the money as much as it is about the investment of your future.
================================================================================
Why do the Big Guru’s charge so much for their products. I think some of them charge way to much for their stuff the little guy can’t afford to buy the products.
—————————————————————————————————-
Dr Smiley’s answer
—————–
That is a good question, as most of these big gurus started where most of the little guys are too. The first thing to consider here is do you really need that stuff? Is it going to really help you with your business? Don’t be real quick to think you need all these great products or software to be successful, cuz you don’t.
Consider too, they are in it to help you but to also make money. They got to be big by doing all the research and taking all the time to find the answers for you and are now offering it to you, which will save you a lot of time and money in the long run. Sometimes you have to look at the big picture.
With the information they are providing to you, think about how long it would take you to find this information and really research it to know just what to do, or how to use something. It could save you hundreds of hours and money to do what they have put together for you.
But don’t be quick to purchase everything you see, take the time to consider if it really is something that will help you and/or your business. Choice wisely.
Getting over the technical aspects to online business isn’t easy. But you do have options that can help you and someone else profit – win-win situations are best!
===============================================================================
Why is the technical part of internet do gosh awful difficult?
Been trying for 11 years and cannot.
should give it up as I am approaching 80.
—————————–
Dr Smiley’s answer
—————–
Yes, the technical part is and can be difficult for many, (and age has nothing to do with it
)
Wow I admire your dedication to this if you have been trying for 11 years.
One important factor to consider Don, if you just can not get past that technical stuff, find someone who can do it for you. Now you don’t have to pay thousands to find someone either. Try to find someone who is willing to do some of that stuff for you in exchange for one of your services. For example, if you are good at writing articles or stories, see if there is someone who is good at putting a website up, but losy at writing, see if they would be interested in building you a website in exchange for you doing some writing for them. A win-win situation.
The same applies to any technical or non technical things you find difficult to get done, find others with skills you can use and offer an exchange, you might be surprised at how many out there are willing and eager to do this. Just ask!
Key to success is not to give up!
